"We thought of life by analogy with a journey, a pilgrimage. Which had a serious purpose at the end and the thing was to get to that end. Death or whatever it is, or maybe Heaven, happy or dead. But we missed the point the whole way a long. It was a musical thing and you we're supposed to sing, or to dance, while the music was being played" - Alan Watts

about

One way to look at this project is to look back at Rising Down, The Roots' LP back in 2008. The concept of that LP as well as TOAL is humanities corruption and destruction of the planet. As we get ever more advanced in technology and industrialism mixed with greedy capitalism, the ecosystem of the planet gets weaker and weaker as we strip her of her resources. It's common knowledge, or at least should be, that we are on our last lifeline, in the 4th quarter with time running out. Some say we're about to take an evolutionary leap and prophecies point in the same direction. Something's gotta give. Take a look around, it's obvious we need some real change. We've been up in the air for thousands of years but have mistaken free falling with flying... So with that said, this is a Tale Of A Lion. To me, Humanity represents that Lion, symbolizing a very powerful and pride-driven species but in our case, misinformed, ignorant of our own destruction, and forgetting that we must lay down with the Lamb in the end. We have to bring balance to the equation and the only time we have is Now. How big is your world? Enjoy the music. ~ENEM
